Pressure Forming Process Used for Hospital Bed System
We chose the pressure forming process to manufacture the MediGLIDER™ patient transfer system. This innovative patient transfer system was developed by ConMediSys. This lateral transfer system eliminates the need for heavy lifting in patient transfer. As patient transfers are a leading cause of workplace injury in hospitals and other healthcare facilities, this has been a boon to the medical industry.
Because the front and back covers for MediGLIDER™ are susceptible to bumps in hospital doors and walls, they needed to be very strong. Our goal was to make the MediGLIDER™ safe and aesthetically appealing to patients and staff members alike. Thus, ATI designed the fire-retardant custom plastic enclosures with a color-matched semblance. In addition, we employed the pressure-forming technique on the large external covers to provide a more refined appearance.
