 We are currently seeking applicants for the following thermoforming jobs:

Position Title:  ESTIMATOR

Reports To:  President

Position Purpose:

  • Develop quality customer relationships and guide customer to marketable and manufacturable solutions for both new and existing projects.  Provide quotes for engineering department.


  • Qualify leads for customer potential.
  • Review client drawings, specifications and customer supplied field information.
  • Work with existing and potential customers to understand their requirements to achieve a superlative part through the thermoforming process. (Design For Manufacturing – DFM).
  • Create manufacturing process plans for details and assemblies, including, but not limited to, determining material, material size, coordination of details (routings & BOM) and assemblies, plus quality requirements.
  • Write and manage quote letters in coordination with the sales manager.
  • Confer with customers to resolve issues and to follow-up on quote status.
  • Maintain/update estimates for existing parts.
  • Assist with change order, revisions, clarifications, and order edit processes.
  • Modify or manipulate parts in SOLIDWORKS.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or minimum 3+ years experience in manufacturing environment of plastics molding and machining.
  • Working knowledge of SoldWorks and 3D modeling.  Must be able to analyze part prints and files to ascertain process challenges.
  • Must have good analytical skills and possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in basic computer programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access;  database, MRP system, and T-form process experience particularly helpful.
  • Read, write, and be conversant in the English language.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Usual office and production environment, involves frequent sitting and occasional standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing.
  • Postures include sedentary positions, walking, standing, and lifting.
  • Occasionally lifts or carries up to 25 pounds, and balances while working in a production environment.
  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination.
  • Verbal and auditory capacity, with or without assistance, enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
  • Visual capacity could include one or more of the following depth perception, color vision, and peripheral vision enabling operation of machinery.
  • Ability to move from department and buildings to interact with others.
  • Occasional travel by automobile.
